Yes.
A couch did happen to me.
In case you are wondering, this is what it looks like when a couch happens to you:
This:
Or maybe even this:
Clearly, you can see, there really is no other way to explain the situation.
I think the couch looks even better with a little bit of this:
and that would be with a hunk a hunk a burning love on it.
We have needed a place for our derriers for quite sometime now. See, we bought us a good bed. We have been sitting on the good bed all the live long day except for when eating. "Dan, roll me over!" was how we typically said goodnight what with the bed sores and all. But now we have a couch, and not just any couch, a highlighter couch! I owe a big thanks to the Grandma who had to go into a home, thus giving up her beautifully silly couch to the Goodwill, which couch was previously occupying her front room sans sitters. Or at least that is what I imagine.
Let it be known that I was not looking for such a magnificent masterpiece of a couch- it just plain happened one Thursday last week. I was taking a stroll to the bustling shopping plaza (as I am a lady of leisure these days) when this here highlighted couch smacked me in the face. Though the couch is silly, though the colour of a yellow/green highlighter perhaps does not go with the beige that is our apartment, and though it is quite lengthy; somehow, despite all that, I just couldn't say no to such a piece of history. As I type this I just know that some part of the 50s/60s/or even the 70s is sticking to my derrier.. . and I love it! And Dan you ask? He likes it more and more everyday.
I especially knew I had to have the couch when the Goodwill cashier said that she would call a Spanish man with a truck to help me haul it home and assured me that if I asked the manager, I could get it for $20 less than the ticketed price. So for the grand total of $120 (including shipping) I made friends with Edwin from Nicaragua, and of course, a couch.
5 woot-woots!:
I love it!!
I love it too! I want to make you matching curtains!
WHAT. THE. ELL.
Heavens to mergatroid.
I have serious couch envy. I'm with you on the modern coffee table...I bet Ikea would have a lovely modern (and cheap) one. If you happen to have another awesome couch smack you in the face, please ask Edwin if he'd mind delivering to PA. XOXO
Gorgeous!
