I took the day off work today as I am flying out to Utah later on this evening. I was going to work a half day, but then the mounting pile of laundry and the empty suitcase started to stress me out. You see, I have been super busy with work, "school", and church stuff of late that I have had no time to get ready for this trip. Procastination is evil. I have had a v. relaxing morning, despite the fact that Celeste came and woke me up at 6:40am to dirve her to school. She actually read her clock wrong- she thought it was 7:40am. Celeste is going to buy a digital alarm clock this weekend.
I'm going back to Utah for 4 days for General Conference, my mission reunion, to visit friends, and for Cafe Rio. I am looking foward to this little holiday, but am feeling a little overwhelmed at the agenda for this weekend. What on earth is the protocol with friends you haven't seen in forever?...should I go see all of them (impossible), do I let them all know that I'm in town....should I just email them and then they can get a hold of me as they wish... This is stressful. You know, maybe I'm thinking about this too hard. I should just stop flattering myself. The best of friends to me are those who are understanding and who have the ability to pick up just where we left off. I'm sure it'll all work out fine. But this is causing me serious worries. I think I'll just spend all 4 days at Cafe Rio...problem solved.
I really don't have much to write. I have had no deep thoughts of late because I stare at eyes all day long and then study about eyes in the evenings inbetween choir practices and visiting teaching. Did you know that it is a big fat myth that if kids sit close to the TV it will ruin their eyes? I quote from my text book "...many children with excellent vision like to hold books very near to their eyes or sit close to the television set. Their youthful eyes focus very well up close, so this behavior is natural to them, and it is safe...[for children who are nearsighted] being close to a book or the television does not cause or worsen nearsightedness or any other eye problem." I'm having flashbacks of watching TV at my grandparents house and hearing the adults yell "don't sit so close to the tv, you'll ruin your eyes!" Lies. All lies.
Have a great weekend everyone. Mine starts today!
