Oh, why hello

Well friends, it has been sometime since my last post.

Let me see. We celebrated our second anniversary of marriage just this past week. 2 years! Can you believe it? Dan and I went to this way over priced burger joint to celebrate. Perhaps not the most romantic thing, I know, but we have been meaning to try it for many weeks now and we both wanted too- so we did- and A&W tastes better. And since we don't have kids and everyday is like a date with a lover, I really didn't mind. We followed it up by going to see Valentine's Day. Way too many stars and way too many story lines and way too predictable. If I could tell you one true blue thing it would be that in these 2 years of marriage, I have turned into a cinema snob. And it somewhat saddens me, for my usual go to genre's just don't hold up to the esteeming cinema torch I now bear. Le sigh. For instance, Dan showed me China Town the other day and dear internets, it is a cinematic work of pure art! Well, come to think of it, perhaps I am not quite a snob, but have a new found penchant for political drama's/thriller's with a little bit of action and guns. For I still cannot tell if a movie had a bad director or the editing was horrible or the score was all wrong and I cannot list names of director's, who wrote the screen play, who did the casting... blah blah blah. That must be the mark of a true cinema snob.

Anyways, I shall talk of the day before our anniversary now. We went cross country skiing in Kananaskis. Oh the beauty and the splendor! And I LOVE cross country skiing and wish I was Norwegian! Shoot, those girls kick butt! But, I don't really know if I would want those quads, whatever would I do with them once I was retired from my Olympic career? What could I wear besides yoga pants? Gosh, I do not know. Anyways, it is a wonderful thing to do and it was so much fun going with Dan and the mountain man Father-In-Law.

Now, the day after our anniversary. What a day, what a day. On that little ol' day we found out that, hold your breath and drum roll please...... dum dum da dum..... DAN GOT INTO GRAD SCHOOL IN WASHINGTON D.C.!!! The heaven's have smiled kindly upon us if I do say so myself. We are so excited and cannot wait for such an adventure. Now, we get to figure out immigration for yours truly (Dan is a dirty dual), moving, housing, student loans/grants/scholarships, and we have to make the most of the rest of the time we have here in The True North Strong and Free. Busy times my friends, busy, busy busy.

So busy infact, I should really get going to do some grocery shopping. It must be done before we go, and fast.

Please leave your congratulations in the comment section or I will assume you are unhappy for us and that would be mean. Really, just freaking comment already. xoxo..

I loved this update. Congrats on the anniversary. We love date nights all the time too. And that hamburger place sounded so yummy! Also cracked up about your thigh comments. I totally think the same way. I had the same thought process about myself becoming a speed skater ;)
And DC!!! So exciting. Congrats to both of you. What a fun journey. What's he going to study?
The only thing that will make this more exciting is if we end up there too. We'll find out Friday. Hopefully the stars will align and we'll be neighbors again!

Congratulations!! I know this is VERY overdue, but I actually just read your post, so it's new news to me.

That's awesome that you, Kass & Bekah will all be out there. We'll hold down the fort out here in Utah, if ever you gals decide to move back! ;)
