Good People of Virginia,

I was wondering if you knew a few things about your state. Here, I'll tell you.

1. I have never been so "yes ma'am'd/no ma'am'd" in my whole entire life. It is adorable so please keep this up.

2. Your state is so GREEN! And so full of flowering trees! Behold! It is confusing unto such as I, coming from the Great White North. I like it though and I'll take it. 

3. Little kids here speak with drawls! And it melts my heart. Even the adults that do it melt my heart. I had a professor who said that he just couldn't trust a woman who spoke with a southern drawl and I feel the opposite. I feel such opposition to his opinion that it probably isn't healthy and I could probably be taken for a fool very quickly. Oh the power of the southern drawl! (and I am not even that south)

4. The good people know this, that this good state is humid, but do they know what it does to me? Turns me pink and very sausage like, very quickly. It kind of reminds me of Thailand's humidity, which I kind of like (we shall evaluate that statement at the end of the summer), because the humidity is triggering all these funny mission memories I kind of forgot about. 

5. Your state smells different. Smells good, but doesn't smell like home. Calgary smells like Rocky Mountains, poplar trees, evergreens,winter, and Crave Cupcakes. It smells like flowers, pollen, and low trees that have so much foliage I almost want to call it plumage. The smell is so different I wonder if I could smell my way home like the Salmon do. I think I could. Even stores and office buildings smell different. 

6. None of my family lives here. This is not a good thing. And also "where things are" is different. Michael Scott says that is one of the things he will miss the most about Scranton and as stupid as it sounds I think he is on to something.
