Thirty Four Weeks

Good grief. I am a rather large pregnant woman. If you need proof of that, please see the photographic evidence below (even my cheeks are pregnant... what I wouldn't do for a thin face again... oh the simple joys of life).

Photobucket

Hooray for black stretchy items of clothing and striped accents. And I was able to squeeze my poor impregnated piggies into my boots for perhaps their last time. I am one fluid retaining pregnant person - just ask my sisters, they quite enjoyed my agony :). I swell up so much I fear I have preeclampsia, but I don't, I just have one large man child in my uterus. It is very easy to get the two mixed up.

And onto other matters - I have been over and out because Dan and I were on a little mini break in Utah with 3 (!) of my sisters, 2 nieces, and 1 brother in law. It was SO nice. I also got spoiled rotten by the aforementioned people. Eve threw me a most amazing baby shower with my Utah peeps (so glad I got to catch up with you all!!) and then we spent the week playing with bebes, eating too many treats (I was really doing well for awhile, sigh), and taking the 2 nieces on fun field trips. I did not take enough photos though, but Betina has some up on her blog- mostly of the cupcakes, but to be honest they were a very important part of the weekend.

Now let us move on to some pictures of the sweet Lucy and Dixie Mae

Lucy is an absolute doll who loves to smile, giggle, and eat. She has the most delicious thighs and her dexterity is really amazing for an eight month old. We had lots of fun making her laugh and watching her roll around.

And this is sweet Dixie Mae with her "smile!" face. I dressed her up as a present for her mama to unwrap. Every morning I would have to remind her how much she likes me and then by midday she would remember and we would have a grand old time. I taught her how to "clink" teacups together for a "cheers!" during tea parties and how to keep her hands "flat like pancakes" when we paint her nails. She doesn't really like men though which was a bummer for Uncle Dan, but he did learn how to buy her love (sometimes) by letting her watch Mickey Mouse Clubhouse on his phone. What would we do without those smart phones?

Then we must remember the yummy baby shower spread, lest we forget

Eve got the sugar cookies especially for me because, after all, I am a cookie monster. It's true. I feel really overwhelmed with how nice and generous people are with pregnant ladies- thank you everyone so much for everything. This pregnant lady tears up over the smallest (and grandest) of gestures these days.

Then I also have to document my funny jokes that I already told everyone I know in real life but would like my posterity to know:
  • Dan is doing so good at school/work/internship. I was talking to him on the phone while I was at work the other week and he told me some especially good news, to which I replied "I am so proud of you, I shall bear you a son!".
  • Friends/Family at the baby shower were asking me if I was ready for the baby and I replied "oh yeah, I've been watching Baby Mama over and over, so I feel pretty prepared".
And that's about it folks! A long catch up post and now I hope to be back to this blog regularly because I love my family and they are all terribly far away. Have a good week everyone!

2 woot-woots!:
