^^There it is. Christmas Eve. And then Christmas Day happened, and it was equally charming.
(that look is too funny- don't even think of taking my books, mother)
Jingle Jude, the Elf, enjoyed all of his little presents. Of course, the wrapping, bows, and such were his favorite but first runner up- books, second- that little (creepy) talking puppy.
After we opened our presents and Jude had a little nap we packed up our fridge and headed north to spend the day with The Thompson's, whom we simply cannot get enough of. Gabe and Jude were reunited once again while Liam bounced around and I dominated Settlers Of America. Good friends are the first runner up to family for the holidays for sure! I was a little disappointed because I was in charge of bringing the deviled eggs and what do you know, in haste of getting out the door I forgot the dozen already boiled eggs in the fridge! Egg Salad Sandwiches for lunch today with a little too much celery. I did remember the Cambozola and honey, so I guess I shouldn't be too hard on myself. In lieu of a big Christmas dinner spread we munched on yummy appetizers all day long, and why have I not known about pepper jelly until this, my 30th year? I think I can say that it has changed my life and I think I just found out about it because I grew up in the tundra. No peppers there. There are also many other things I did not find out about until later in life. Like when I was 21 and asked my sister Nunu what a 5 o'clock shadow was. Seriously.
I happened to get a lot of chocolate things for Christmas. Quite delicious indeed! In an attempt to not sit down and eat it all at once, gaining 7 pounds, I enlisted Dan's help as my rationing master. It's good and it's bad. He keeps hiding the different delectables all over our house and moving the hiding spots. For darn, that man! Right when I think I have it figured out the hiding spot changes. Up high, down low- I never know! Dan. Exclamation mark.
