Just got back from my little weekend get away to Utah. I had such a good time. There is nothing like catching up with old friends...especially the ones I haven't seen in 2 years due to mission duties.
Got there Thursday night. Marjie picked me up at the airport then we went to say hello to her friend Jeremy who has a beautiful house. Said hello to him... then went on home to Marj's little basement suite in Provo. What a cute place she lives in. That apartment was made for her. Marj is a tall gal. I am a short gal. I cannot even see the top of head in her bathroom mirror. Enough said.
Friday I went to school with Marj. She teaches English in a little town called Payson. It was teacher development day so I got to go to staff meetings with her all morning and help her grade papers in the afternoon. I learned that satire and scarcism can be just about the same thing. In the evening Marj dropped me off at my mission reunion in Sandy. It was so nice to see some near and dear friends from Thailand. My partner in crime the last 2 1/2 years that I was at BYU, Kassi Greer, picked me up from the reunion and we had our own little reunion at Bucca de Peppe in downtown SLC. It was so nice to see Kass. She is engaged to a Britt and will be getting married in London in April. I think she's gonna make me her maid of honor! Our friend Emily met up with us later that night, and she took me back to Provo, where I got to meet dear Squires who just arrived from Vegas.
Saturday we listened to conference on the radio (confession: I slept just a wee bit), went to Cafe Rio for lunch and then did some shopping. Some great shopping I would like to add. Those girls! We giggled all day long. I got the second season of "Arrested Development" and am v.v.v. excited to be a couch potatoe this week. Love that show. We ended the evening at the Chinese place we like over a piece of cake called "the great wall of chocolate". We got home a little late and my friend Emily called me to invite me to her place for a movie. She came and picked me up. I got to meet an old boyfriend of hers that I had heard so much about, but could never match the name to a face.
Sunday morning we listened to conference again on the radio as we were driving up to SLC to meet with some relatives of Marji's for a picnic lunch on temple square. Marj wanted to set up Squires with her olympic athlete cousin, Joel (he played on the Canadian volleyball team last summer olympics). We all just ate and talked. It was fun. Nice people. We drove up with Marji's parents and fandangled a ride home from dear Jeremy. He's so sweet, he'd do anything for Marj. Then Squires went home. In the evening me and Marj went to the Litchies for dinner. It was so nice to see my 2nd family. After the delicious dinner we just sat around and talked with brother and sister litchfield about ... lots of stuff. The conversation ended up at dating. How I love and adore those people. It was so nice to see them again.
On Monday Emily let me use her car so I could spend the morning with Kass up in SLC. We just sat at a cafe and talked. Caught up really. We haven't seen each other in 2 years! crazy. She told me all about the "love of her life", Luke. I got to talk with him on the phone a little bit and he seems like a great bloke. Kass is on cloud #493020148. So if any of you want to be my date for an April wedding in London, just let me know. I went back to provo, said goodbye to Marji and Emily took me to the airport. Bunny, bless her heart, picked me up at midnight from the calgary airport.
Today I started work at 7:30am. That is EARLY. Good thing I like work though. I came home to a messy suitecase and no food. One good thing about living in Canada, is that there will always be perogies in my freezer for days like this. yum yum.
I saw a patient today with the worst breath I have ever smelt. If I take a deep sniff I can still smell it on me. This is very sick. I want to go bathe in bleach...bleach and iodine. sick.
