there is nothing like hearing from an aquatiance from the past. there is also nothing like that aquatiance talking about something really stupid you once did. come on, i know everyone has those stupid teenage/early 20s things they don't want to talk about. it just makes you feel like a complete ass when you have to hear about it as a more mature person in her 20s.... or whatever age group for that matter.
some people say they live with no regrets, but i like to wonder if that is actually possible. when people say that, do they actually mean it? can they mean it? like the elementry school teacher who got intimate with a student many years her junior...come on! or julia roberts and lile loveless? i think i might just regret that if i was her. anyways...
i regret this stupid shirt i bought at american eagle while in university that said "make-out bandit". i think just about everyone can agree with me on that one- v. regretable. i met up with an aquatiance from that time period twice, and already he has brought up that shirt...twice. what actually possessed me to buy that shrit? it was on sale and the fit was cute...but come on! for the rest of my life it will haunt me. whatever made me do it? maybe it was byu, maybe it was just where i was in my life then... whatever it was, i regret it.
there's my confession. i regret that purchase. yep, i have a regret and if you feel sorry or sad for me because i haven't lived life "with no regrets", just dig a bit deeper in your past i swear you'll have the shirt or the boyfriend 19 years your junior.
2 woot-woots!:
at least you don't have to regret that you WERE the make out bandit. Having the t shirt is one thing, actually living up to it is a whole other ball of wax.
i have two things to say.
1. my regrets usually come in the form of buyers' remorse. too often i do the cop-out, buy-the-cheaper-version and it's never the one i really want. i have resolved to stop doing this and just buy what i want, dammit.
2. the fact that you use words like "ass" makes me feel closer to you than ever.
