Here are some highlights of what this stinker likes to do:
- Crawling! Not on all fours, but Jude has the army wiggle worm thing down. And that boy is fast. The other day I had left my boots on and was doing the dishes while Jude was behind me playing with something when all of a sudden I felt a little gnawing on my right ankle. Sure enough I look down and this little stinker is biting my ankles. He really likes chewing on leather. My little puppy! I think we should get him some raw hide?
- Laughing! A couple of weeks ago he pet his first kitty cat (Rue Workman) and it made him giggle. It was so cute. Then just today we took a fun, play bath together (mind the visual ;)) and when I set his rubber ducky in front of him it made him giggle. So funny this kid.
- Smiling! Jude is almost all smiles, at least around us. One of my favorite things that will make him smile is when we turn on the lights in a dark room or open up the blinds to let the sunshine in. We love it when he wakes up happy and we go to get him and he is full of huge grins and silly sounds.
- Eating! I've been buying and making his food- just depending. He has liked almost everything we have given him and he eats with gusto. He even enjoys licking the dirty spots on the kitchen floor. This has been a huge motivator to mop more. "Jude, oh yuck, what are you doing? Stop licking the floor!!"
- Personality! From what I can tell, he seems to be a pretty happy and social kid. Other than that, you know, he's a baby who likes to babble, eat, nurse, sleep (kind of), wiggle and steal the hearts of others.
- Mama Love! He loves him some Mama. No one can settle him down quite like I can. Now, this, of course has its pros and cons but since he is my first baby and most days feel like Saturday, I don't mind being the only one who can really soothe him as I don't have a gaggle of kids to chase around in the mean time. It does in fact melt my cold, black heart.
- Daddy Love! No one can make this kid smile like his Papa can. When Dan gets home from work, no matter what kind of mood Jude is in he will always have a huge grin from ear to ear for his Papa. I happen to despise the LDS Primary song that goes "I'm so glad when Daddy comes home..." because it is full of so many subliminal gender messages so I will not ever ever in my long life quote that song except here and now. Jude is very glad when Daddy comes home.
So there it is, our little Jude. Some of our favorite things to call him include, but are not limited to: Hoot, Hoots-A-Rella, Munchkin, Sweet Pea, Stinker Butt. We really love this our little guy.
And please, what color do you think his hair is? We think strawberry blondish but most of the new growth is coming in blond blond but it still mystifies us.
1 woot-woots!:
he's soooo cute! =">
