To say Jude loved the industrial fans is for sure an understatement. |
Last week we had a deluge in Jude's bathroom (I prefer the French word because it sounds more fancy). Oh what a sight. Water poured in from the ceiling and the floors gladly drank it up. Such a mess, and dude, I am glad we are just the renters. Things like this are such a headache. After 3 long days of very loud fans and dehumidifiers everything is finally dried up, so now we are down a bathroom and currently waiting for the insurance companies to figure out who is responsible for what. Praise be, I am not responsible for anything! I have to take the pros of not owning a home where I can, you know, to help me feel better about life and such.
This weekend has been especially eventful mostly because we brought our duvet out of the closet as to keep us warm during these chilly nights. I love duvet time. I miss it dearly during summer and always look forward to its arrival come fall. Light blankets are great for the summer but they just don't have the same snuggle factor as a fat feather duvet, if you know what I mean. I was so happy to see that duvet that I promptly slept in until 11:30am on Saturday (!!).
I haven't slept in that late since ... well, I can't even remember. And it was effing awesome. Dan came in sometime around 9ish to change a very full diaper and I vaguely remember Jude asking for me. All they could spot though was a tuft of hair in the sea of duvet and sheets. Oh is there anything better than a teenager sleep-in on a Fall weekend? I don't think there is and it made me feel 16 again. I followed Saturday's sleep in with a 9:30am sleep in on Sunday which made me feel, I'd say, about 23 again. I'm not entirely sure, but I think the best way to drink from the fountain of youth is through sleeping in. Alert: I may be on to something here. Seeing as I turn extra old this week a pre-birthday sleep-in weekend was a must. A big thank you to the duvet that made it happen (and Dan).
And then, I realized this year that I am actually a Fall baby. With a late October birthday, I always thought I was a Winter baby because of living in Canada. Despite what the Solstice says, late October in Canada is always winter no matter where in The Great White North you live. But down here! Oh boy, I am a Fall-Colors-Of-The-Wind kind of birthday baby. And I like it.
So there you have it. I blabbered on about almost nothing for 4 paragraphs! Have a great week everyone :).
