It's been so long I almost forget how to do this shiz!
Well. I'm back. I was away for awhile visiting family and friends. Hopping from one state to another for 19 days. And, 19 days is quite a long time to be away from home and away from this fun space. So here I am, back and ready to party so lets get this started.
Me and Judie Pants took a really late flight home which actually worked out pretty good. On the first flight he had ants in his pants and did not appreciate my restraints, to say the least, but on the connection flight he eagerly rested his sweaty little head against my chest and slept the whole way home. Which was a good thing because a girl that I knew when I lived in Thailand just happened to sit down right beside us! What a small world. It was so very nice to chat and chat about people and places that seem so far away it really could have just been a dream. But Thailand wasn't a dream! Thank you Sister Thack for choosing to sit beside the mom with a kid on your Southwest flight home in the middle of the night. Honestly, what are the odds?!!?!
So from one place to another, back and forth, with lots of giggles and cousins and good food and now we are home. As I was making my way to the elevator so I could hop on the train to baggage claim I couldn't help but feel that this is my airport, that I was home. You guys. Slowly but surely this rinky dink armpit of suburbia in the DC Metro area is my home! It feels like home, and, I say that in my head like Oprah would, in case you are wondering. I was so glad to step on that glass elevator and to see that airport Chipotle that I keep meaning to catch a bite at. This is my home. This is slightly a freak out moment because this kind of stuff takes so much time. Slowly my cold heart has melted and although I will always long for every other place that has ever been my home, naturally, I can now add this little part of Virginia, complete with its really (really) bad schools and people getting shot killed in Costco (I know!), to my list of homes. No place is perfect, after all, but this place is my home and I'll take it. There are lots of positive things about this little rinky dink armpit of suburbia as well, but don't we always gloss over stuff like that? It's a human thing.
Okay then, I am home! And I am back! I'm gonna try to keep this space updated so I can continue making your eyes roll as I wax poetic about every minute detail of Jude's cuteness, as I do, and you can continue to read, if you are not too nauseated. Win, win! I will also keep a look out for funny things to tell you... ohh, and I think I may have something already. What luck!
