This post is about my birthday and is sans photos, sorry my cute friends. I'm getting lamer and lamer the older I get. What can I say?
So, it was a pretty good day. I am now closer to 30 than 20, am a year younger than Eve and 2 years older than Anders. Both of these siblings like this time of year. Eve gets to feel younger and Anders older. They thank Math.
The day started with a sweet morning "happy birthday" from the husband because he is just cute like that. My main gift from my lover was a new pair of jeans that we bought a few weeks earlier, so the day was filled with little suprises for me. . . little extravagant things I don't buy anymore cause I now have to be all responsible and things like that. Dan gave me my first little gift which was a dark chocolate bar featuring rose hips and raspberry. Then I tore open cards and gifts that arrived via post. To my great delight, Eve double gifted me. Usually preparation is a good thing except in an instance like this. Last year Nunu was double gifted by Betina, this year, my turn. Yippee! Eve sent me home from our last visit in June with a gift and then sent a little some'em some'em in the mail. (I loved both the shampoo set and the lipstick v. much Eve) After the gifts I dressed up in a favorite outfit and headed to work with a homemade cake in tow. Yes, I made my own cake, because I make great, rich, chocolate delights that I cannot trust anyone else to make. It must all be homemade, none of this mix crap, with creative insides. I can do that just fine.
Upon my arrival home, I met my sweet sister-in-law who brought me some delish pumpkin cookies and a visit from my little nephew. Then we rushed to get ready for dinner and a movie. Thai food was my pick and then "Burn After Reading" complete with a Diet Coke and Twizzlers. Mmmm.
Throughout the day I recieved many phone calls, texts, and FB posts that made me smile... like this :). The celebrations continued over the weekend with a Brithday dinner at the in-laws, Litchfield style.
I had a great birthday and would recommend a day like that to anyone.
Friends and Family: A+
