Birthdays and such...

This weekend I turned the big two-nine. Dude, where has the time gone? My default age in my head is 22, so this whole two-nine thing seems just completely ridiculous! I never thought it would come to this- the last birthday in my twenties. Weird. Anyways, Dan did do many sweet and wonderful things for me. Our birthday's are exactly 90 days apart with his coming first. I always try to make it extra special for him, but somehow, he always out does my efforts. Every time! Next year that husband of mine is gonna get it so bad on his birthday that he will have no other choice but to take me to the moon.

For his August birthday I put together a birthday party for him at Cheesecake Factory- one of his favorite places. Here is some evidence:





Then on his actual birth day day we visited with some friends in Maryland and went swimming at a state park and had some brie and bread (a birthday tradition). Did we do Cafe Rio as well? I don't remember. Oh- I do remember! I made him his favorite meal, Eldorado Casserole (a pure labor of love on my part).








For my birthday, Dan started giving me gifts Friday night- he is so cute that way and simply cannot help it. On Saturday evening we searched high and low for some good local eating (which is hard to find around these parts) instead of braving the bad weather to make it to our DC restaurant reservation. We ended up having some wonderful Thai food with some friends. Seriously, it was some of the best Thai food I have had since Bangkok 2006.







On my birth day day (Sunday) he made me a yummy breakfast along with my contribution of fruit.










Sunday evening my sweet friend Amber had a birthday/baby party for us. We had friends over at her place for cake and ice cream and something a little extra.







When we cut the cake we found out that our little fetus is in fact a Don Draper! We felt a little silly making such a big deal out of the gender, but all in all, it was super fun :). Amber did a great job keeping the secret from us all weekend long.
